In Mae Hong Son Province, Thai/hill tribe children die every year from cold weather, malaria, dengue fever, and other diseases resulting from malnutrition and poor sanitation facilities. Some of the mountain schools in Mae Hong Son lack even a basic latrine. The children must use the jungle. Add to these facts that school budgets are strained by the inclusion of hill tribe children into the Thai school system and you can see Why we give What we give.
